Meet Ron Tilman, Professional Photographer

I became involved with photography while serving overseas in the military from 1971 to 1973. I became the unit photographer for the last US combat unit in Vietnam. After my military service and getting married, photography became my hobby.

What I’m Doing Nowadays

Upon retiring, I was invited to work with a veteran's nonprofit organization called Battle Dawgs in Alaska. My trip to Alaska ignited an interest in other photography, primarily wildlife and nature. With new, updated equipment, I spent my time with other veterans, preparing and assisting my sled dog team during the 2018 Iditarod Race in Alaska.

Dedicated to Showcasing the Beauty of Nature

I often do exhibits and create educational photo library books for Schlagle Nature Center Library in Kansas City, Kansas. My goal is to show people the beauty of Kansas and its surrounding states, such as Nebraska, Missouri, and Arkansas.

On occasion, I offer custom private photography workshops that allow guests to use my professional equipment to capture the stunning beauty of the area and its wildlife.
